Software Engineer — Guardian Core (m/f/d)

Full-time · 40hRemote (EU) / StuttgartImmediately

BRANE is our AI appliance for enterprises: it runs on-site at the customer and controls, for every AI request, which data stays local and what may go to the cloud. The Guardian Core is its centerpiece: it checks every request, detects personal data and decides according to the customer's rules. You take over this component and develop it together with the CTO.

You work on the core engine of the product, not a side module: on code that co-decides whether BRANE delivers the security promise customers buy us for. Your systems run on-premise on customer hardware and must decide traceably — there is no second chance when something goes wrong.

What you'll work on:

  • The logic that decides whether a request is processed locally or in the cloud
  • Detection and anonymization of sensitive data
  • Enforcement of company policies in German and English text
  • Tests that safeguard the quality of these decisions
  • The admin interface customers use to control the behavior

Your tasks

  • Design features, build them and take them to production
  • Measure decision quality and improve it step by step
  • Advance the policy checks for German and English text
  • Analyze and fix issues reported from real installations

What you bring

  • Several years of TypeScript experience, ideally with Next.js or a comparable framework
  • You have built systems where correctness matters — authentication, payments or data processing
  • Interest in working with language models and evaluating them
  • Experience with text classification or data-protection topics is a plus
  • Good German and English is a plus; most of our customers are German-speaking
  • A background in security engineering, DLP or data classification is a plus
  • Experience with on-premise or air-gapped environments is a plus

What we offer

  • Core product, not periphery: you work on the component that defines BRANE
  • Technical depth instead of a feature factory: architecture decisions are argued, code is reviewed
  • Ownership into operations: you stay responsible for what you build
  • Short paths: a direct line to the CTO, no layer between you and the decision
